Here two Irish boys in 1966 praying in the execution yard at Kilmainham Gaol. The press caption read, “Two young boys bow their heads in prayer before a simple cross. sparsely adorned by flowers, in the execution yard at Kilmaibham Jail here. The hail, the Bastille of Ireland, has been restored with loving care by the hands of Irishmen who wish to perpetuate the memory of heroic suffering behind its damp and forbidding walls.”
